This accessibility statement applies to mobile applications linked to all instances of the Quris platform.
These applications are run by Tactuum. We want as many people as possible to be able to use these mobile applications. For example, that means you should be able to:
- View the app in dark mode
- Use all available native text scaling
- navigate most of the application using just a switch
- listen to most of the application using a screen reader
We’ve also made the app text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible these mobile applications are
We know some parts of these mobile applications are not fully accessible:
- The text size for tool titles on the main page does not increase
- Content from clients may not meet accessibility standards
- On the main page of a toolkit, screen readers will read out menu items from menus that are not visible on the screen
Feedback and contact information
If you need information on these mobile applications in a different format like accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille, please email support@tactuum.com. We’ll consider your request and get back to you in 10 working days.

Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about these mobile applications’ accessibility
Tactuum is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
- non-compliances - this means the content in question is in scope of the regulations, but there’s an accessibility problem with it
- an exemption - this means the inaccessible content is out of scope of the regulations, or it’d be a disproportionate burden for you to make it accessible
These mobile applications are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Client designed content
This platform relies heavily on client-generated content which we are unable to modify, and so the accessibility of this content cannot be guaranteed.
Disproportionate burden
Side Menu Text Size
When the user has selected a larger text size, the text in the side menu is unaffected. This section of code requires a full redesign, a process scheduled to be completed by March 2022 (?). Any new redesign will build to WCAG 2.1, so this text will behave as expected.
Toolkit Main Page Text
The toolkit main page contains text that does not change size with an increase in preferred text size on Android as these tiles are legacy custom made controls. This page also contains text that is visually hidden but can be read by screen readers. Toolkit navigation is scheduled for an upgrade by March 2022 (?) and any upgrade will ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
These mobile applications were last tested on 6th August 2021. The test was carried out internally using Axe for Android and physical iOS and Android devices.
